Buddha once said, “Your karma follows you like a shadow that never leaves.”
Every thought, every word, every action you take — they all create ripples that shape the path ahead of you.
Karma is not punishment.
Karma is reflection.
It is the natural law of cause and effect — the mirror that shows us what we have planted through our intentions and deeds.
According to the Buddha, there are three kinds of karma — and understanding them changes the way you live:
🧠 1. Mental Karma (Cetanā Karma) –
It begins in the mind. Every intention, thought, and desire you cultivate sets the foundation for your future.
If your thoughts are filled with compassion, patience, and goodwill, peace will follow.
If they are filled with anger or greed, suffering will return — not as punishment, but as a mirror for your growth.
💬 2. Verbal Karma (Vācī Karma) –
Your words have power.
Each word you speak either heals or harms, connects or divides.
When you speak truth with kindness, your words become seeds of harmony.
But when words are used carelessly or with hate, they return with the same energy they carried outward.
🤲 3. Bodily Karma (Kāya Karma) –
These are your physical actions — what you do with your hands, where you walk, how you serve.
When you act with generosity and mindfulness, your body becomes an instrument of compassion.
When you act with harm or selfishness, you sow the seeds of unrest within yourself.
🌸 The Buddha taught:
> “If you want to understand your past, look at your present.
If you want to understand your future, look at your present actions.”
Every moment is a chance to create better karma — to think kindly, speak truthfully, and act with compassion.
The shadow of your karma follows, yes — but it can be a shadow of light, not darkness.
So be mindful today.
Let your thoughts be peaceful, your words be gentle, and your actions be pure —
because what you do today becomes the story you live tomorrow. 🌞
